Col. Francis S. Conaty, Ret. (Age 93) Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones, on September 23, 2013. The only son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Francis S. Conaty, was born in Rockville, IL on 15 May 1920. He is preceded in death by his cherished wife of 66 years, Carol Clayton Conaty. He is survived by their six children, Mrs. Patricia McNamara, Mrs. Ceci Dittmar, Mr. Chip Conaty, Mr. Phil Conaty, Mr. Pete Conaty, and Mrs. Peggy Pisciotta and the respective spouses. Additionally he had 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a large extended family, all of whom were treasured dearly.

He proudly served 30 years in the US Army, a veteran of WWII and the Vietnam War. A true patriot, he is a hero and inspiration to all who knew and loved him.

He will be buried with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery Post Chapel (January 27, 2014, at 10:45 AM).
